Scientific Engineering House Pvt. Ltd. (SEH) is a private limited company established in Hyderabad, India in 1948 as a service and repair centre for surveying and optical instruments. By 1962, through technical collaborations with MOM, Hungary and PZO, Poland, SEH was manufacturing and selling Optical Theodolites and Microscopes in a big way.

In the aftermath of the 1965 Indo-Pak war, SEH was approached by the India MoD to manufacture the Fire Control Instrument Director No. 7 (D7) for Artillery use. SEH mastered the design and engineering of this instrument, which is still in use in the Indian military. So far 1295 nos. have already been supplied.
SEH soon started manufacturing and supplying other Day Light instruments for the Armoured Corps, Artillery and Infantry.

In 1970s, SEH got associated with IRDE and developed Infrared (IR) instruments such as IR Gunner and Commander Sights, Driver Binoculars and IR Search Lights. SEH successfully productionized these instruments and supplied them to the MoD.

In the 1980s, SEH developed Passive Night Vision Devices line in collaboration with IRDE and became one of the leading supplier of NVDs.
